Zebra dies after hitting fence post at Milwaukee Zoo


A zebra has died after hitting a containment fence post inside its enclosure at a zoo in Milwaukee.

The zebra, named Stuart, was “exploring, running and chasing impalas in the yard” at the Milwaukee County Zoo’s Impala Plains habitat on Wednesday when it collided with a fence post surrounding the habitat, the zoo said. announced on Thursday.

Tim Wild, the zoo’s curator of large mammals, said an autopsy will be done to find out why the zebra’s injuries were fatal. Milwaukee Journal Sentinel report.
