Ethan, just 6 years old, was driving to school with his mother when he noticed the same homeless man sitting outside in the cold. “He asked why he was there,” recalls his mother Ebony Hill. That Christmas, Ethan used his $100 gifted by his aunt to acquire survival supplies for a homeless man. “It’s not,” says his mother.
Along with his father, David W. Hill Jr., the family handed out supplies, but soon found they were needed by the larger homeless community. “He was distraught and wrecked in his car because he couldn’t help the rest of the people who were there,” his father says.
From there, Ethan decided he was going to do whatever it took to help as many people as possible. Collected. During the pandemic, he applied to become a nonprofit, ethan’s heart We have officially taken off.
Today, he’s raised enough money to buy a mobile store full of survival gear so he can drive around town and help those in need. He also hosts packing parties where volunteers gather to restock the store and stuff duffel bags with supplies.
