Two months ago, Alicia Pierchara rescued her euthanized French bulldog, Peppa.

Now Pierschala and her family are trying to save Peppa again. This time from a thief who stole a 6-year-old black French bulldog at gunpoint during a night walk in the Portage Park area this week.

They are asking the public for help and pleading with the thief to return Peppa. “I hope people change their minds and give her back, like her mother said,” said Pierchara’s daughter Angelica.

her mother added: don’t know. “

Alicia Pierchara, 64, told The Sun-Times she was walking her dog near her home Wednesday night when the weather was nice enough to venture a little farther than usual.

Pieruchala said she had just turned 5800 on West Giddings Avenue when someone put a gun to the back of her head and yelled, “Give me the dog!”

“Suddenly I couldn’t move,” she said. It was so quiet that I didn’t hear any footsteps or anything. ”

Peppa’s leash was tied to Pierrcala’s wrist, and there was a struggle to pull the dog away. The robber pointed a gun at Mr. Pierucala’s chest and then his forehead.

“I still feel it,” said Pierrcala.

The robber hit her in the shoulder and Ms. Pierucala fell backwards to the ground. A van was seen fleeing the scene as she lost consciousness and vanished.

Her daughter said she had a concussion and injured the same rotator cuff in her shoulder, which had been operated on two years earlier.

Police said the man who stole Peppa had left his cell phone behind and was caught on multiple videos running toward a red van. They have another strong lead on this case. Peppa has a traceable microchip.

The family spread the information on social media in the hope that someone would find Peppa.

Pierchara took Peppa in two months ago after learning that her former owners were trying to kill her. “Her mother was very happy to be able to go for a walk with her mother,” said Angelica Pierchara. “I think she’s finally starting to feel that this is her home.”
