Winter weather advisory in effect until 9 PM Wednesday


Officials from the National Weather Service have announced that a winter weather advisory is in effect through 9 p.m. for parts of north central and northeastern Illinois.

Officials warned of slippery road conditions for night commuters and warned that visibility could be less than a mile during the evening hours.

Snow cover was expected to be 3 to 5 inches Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

Parts of Central, East Central, North Central, and West Central Indiana winter storm warning By 7 p.m. Wednesday, officials said. In Indiana, he could get 6 to 9 inches of snow on Wednesday.

Snow piled up near a lake in Illinois could add an inch more Wednesday night, officials said.
