West Town shooting: Oak Park woman found shot to death; Chicago police investigating


Chicago (WLS) — A 31-year-old Oak Park woman was shot dead Wednesday night in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood, according to CPD.

Chicago police responded to a call of a shooting in the 1500 block of West Hubbard Street shortly after 8:30 p.m.

When police arrived, they found a woman with a gunshot wound to the head.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by Chicago fire officials, according to CPD.

The Cook County Coroner’s Office identified her as Brittany Wooten.

As of Thursday morning, no one has been taken into custody and Area 3 detectives are investigating the case.
