URBANA — The city of Urbana will hold a “special community meeting and listening session” to discuss its police department’s traditional approach to calls for service and explore alternatives, trends and solutions.

The meeting, which is part of the city’s Community Safety project, will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at FourSquare Church, 2101 E. Washington St.

All are welcome to attend and share their thoughts, ideas and perspectives, a news release from Deputy Chief Richard Surles said.

The meeting will be facilitated by the BerryDunn private consulting group.
