Time Magazine named Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy “and the spirit of Ukraine” as his own Person of the year 2022.
Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in FebruaryZelenskyy became a notable figure worldwide for his leadership of the Ukrainian resistance and efforts to draw attention to the months-long war.
The the title is awarded annually to a person, group, object or even idea that has exerted “the greatest influence in the previous 12 months…for better or for worse”.
Zelenskyy was one of 10 out Time’s shortlist for the 2022 titlewhich was revealed on Monday.
