Severe weather is targeting the Gulf Coast and the Tennessee River Valley, which could create a number of severe tornadoes.
Tornado warnings have been issued for parts of southeastern Arkansas, northern and central Louisiana, and central Mississippi. The National Weather Service calls this a “particularly dangerous situation.”
The tornado is expected to form Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday evening. People who live in weak houses are advised to go to wind shelters.
Severe storms can also bring destructive winds and massive hail.
Bullseye cities are: Jackson, Mississippi. Alexandria, Louisiana. and Memphis, Tennessee. New Orleans, Mobile and Birmingham, Alabama could also be affected. Nashville, Tennessee and eastern Kentucky.
Flash floods are possible in southern Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.
On Wednesday, the storm system is predicted to move east.
Severe thunderstorms can occur from the Florida Panhandle to the Carolina. Additionally, heavy rain and gusty winds are expected from Washington DC to Boston.
