On Wednesdays, we’ll introduce the students who make up Year 8 of High School Confidential, powered by Danville Area Community College. Next up: Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley’s Rylie Huls. Follow her on Snapchat (@rhuls_05) and Instagram (@huls_rylie).

Rylie was named homecoming queen last weekend. Not that you’ll read her name in this week’s report.

“I am just not one that likes all the attention, so it felt weird writing my own name down like I was asking for all the attention,” the senior said.

Still, it was a memorable night for the future pediatric nurse who is big into school spirit.

“I was happy and honored to be able to represent my class and school as queen and to be able to come back next year to crown next year’s queen,” she said.

Her humble approach is evident in the design she chose for her senior parking spot outside the high school: her initial and flowers.

“I wanted my senior parking spot to be personal to me, but not that a random town’s person knew it was me,” she said.

“So I chose to keep it simple.”
