An 18-year-old woman has died days after being injured in a shooting at her home in Kenwood on the South Side.
Chicago police said the shooting occurred around 9:15 a.m. on March 1 at a residence at 4500 South Drexel Boulevard.
Police and the Cook County coroner’s office said 18-year-old Deshaunay Yorkum was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the head.
She was pronounced dead 10 days later, according to the coroner’s office.
No one was detained.
