Surveillance footage released of 93-year-old woman’s hit-and-run death

Police have released new surveillance images of the vehicle being wanted in connection with the hit-and-run death of a 93-year-old woman on Thursday night.

A community alert was issued Thursday night against a 2008 Silver Porsche Cayenne with license plate number CZ60617. Police said the driver fled after he hit the victim on his 300 block on S. Laramie Avenue.

“I met her about three years ago,” said neighbor Thelma Ramsay. “My heart is so heavy for her family, her daughter. She can’t believe she’s gone.”

Ramsey lived on the corner near Laramie and Gladys streets, and the murdered victim was a friend of hers.

“My heart is so heavy,” she said. “I’m just there to go to the post office alone to mail the letter they told me.”

Investigators said the accident happened just before 12:30 pm. The victim was walking in a crosswalk. Silver Porsche His Cayenne driver was heading north on the Laramie. Another vehicle was waiting for the victim to cross, but the driver of the silver Porsche could not wait and drove into the bike lane, drove around the vehicle and crashed into the victim, investigators said. Stated.

“Everyone is always in a hurry to get nowhere,” said neighbor Antoine Biel.

Investigators said the driver of the Porsche Cayenne continued driving and left the victim in the middle of the street. She was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, but she did not go.

“I mean, why don’t you stop? Why don’t you stop?” said the calf. “I mean, it could have been your mother, it could have been your aunt, it could have been you.”

Calves and other neighbors say the crossing is dangerous and now deadly, saying drivers are constantly speeding and blowing stop signs.

“I wanted to see her again,” Ramsey said. “I know she’s no good. I wish I could have helped her somehow.”
