Jessica Littman, an Evanston resident and granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor, recently co-helped a Rohingya refugee family. Three boys, a father, a pregnant mother, Nurzan is her Husin. About six months after arriving in Chicago, Jessica and Nathan formed a deep friendship despite the language barrier and the women’s different backgrounds, one Jewish and the other Muslim. They recently celebrated the Hussin family’s first Thanksgiving in the United States at Littman’s house and ate a variety of multicultural dishes.
