Elkjop has over 400 stores in seven Nordic countries, in addition to its own e-commerce sites. Elkjop’s challenge was to ensure that customers could use its search engine to find product availability and real-time pricing information, particularly during periods of high demand such as the ‘Week’ Nordic sales period. The integration team’s priorities were speed, to ensure they could deliver quickly; and an affordable pricing model to avoid prohibitive costs associated with high volumes of data, as the team needed to move up to one hundred million rows of data each night and approximately 60 million real-time events per day. Elkjop also wanted the benefits of moving all systems to the cloud for better infrastructure management.
SnapLogic’s intelligent integration platform provided a solution at an affordable price for the retailer. The intranet search engine took three weeks to load due to the high volume of data, and as a result, stock and price information was out of sync, creating a lag. Using SnapLogic Snaps as a template, the team built 250 pipelines in just a few days, eventually moving from a three-week data upload period to a three-day one.
