Morton marches on to Grand National semifinals at Indy

INDIANAPOLIS (25News Now) – This is a weekend to remember for the Morton Potters.

Morton’s girls volleyball team appeared in the IHSA Final Four at Illinois State University’s CEFCU Arena on Friday and plays in the third-place match on Saturday.

The Potters’ marching band, meanwhile, advanced to Saturday morning’s semifinals of the Grand National Championships at Lucas Oil Stadium, considered the Super Bowl of band competitions.

The band sent us photos from their performance on the field where the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts play their home games, and a YouTube video from a hotel watch party in which the Potters learned they advanced to the semifinals.

Over 90 bands have been competing in Indianapolis since Thursday.

The semifinals start at 7 a.m. on Saturday, with the finals at 7 p.m.
