Missing body found in stolen Rockford Funeral Home van in Chicago


A body was found in Chicago’s Far South Side in a stolen Rockford Funeral Home van on Saturday, police said.

According to NBC affiliate WREX, a van at the Collins & Stone Funeral Home was stolen, leaving the body of a man inside. Rockford police tweeted that the van was in Chicago the next day.

However, the body was nowhere to be found, and police worked with multiple law enforcement agencies to investigate.

Police have since released photos of the man being searched in connection with the theft. In an update around 6 p.m. Monday, Rockford Police said the body was recovered at 8200 Block South He Manistee, near South Chicago.
