Man shot, killed outside of liquor store identified

UPDATE (8:30 a.m.) – The Peoria County Coroner has identified the man who was shot and killed outside of Laramie Liquors Saturday night.

The coroner says 21-year-old Mason R. Loy of Havana, Illinois, was pronounced dead on the scene at 10:25 p.m.

An autopsy on Loy is scheduled for Monday, August 28.

In a release, Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins confirms Saturday night’s shooting happened in the Laramie Liquors parking lot located at 1841 South Laramie Street.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male with gunshot wounds who was pronounced dead on the scene.

The victim’s identity and manner of death will be released by the Peoria County Coroner at a later time.

There is currently no suspect in custody, and the shooting is under investigation.

PEORIA (25News Now) – A man is dead after a shooting in Peoria Saturday night.

Peoria Police say that the call came in at 9:08 p.m.

It happened near the intersection of South Laramie Street and West Krause Avenue.
