A man was shot dead in Avalon Park on the South Side on Tuesday night.
A 27-year-old man was shot in the right side of the street on the 8100th block of South Kenwood Avenue at about 8:15 p.m., according to Chicago police.
He was initially taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition but later died, police said.
No one was detained.
