BELVIDERE, Ill. (WLS) — A man who was seriously injured when a theater he was in was hit by a tornado is now taking the theater’s owners to court.

Paul Rojas and hundreds of others were inside Belvidere’s Apollo Theater for a March 30 concert.

Lawyers for Rojas said the theater’s owners ignored severe weather warnings, allowing the concert to go ahead.

The lawsuit also claims that the roof of the theater was not adequately maintained.

One person died while Rojas and several others suffered serious injuries.
