Man gunned down in Pilsen

A man was shot and killed early Tuesday morning in the Pilsen neighborhood.

About 1:05 a.m., Miguel Villegas, 24, was getting out of a vehicle in the 2300 block of West 18th Place when a black SUV approached and someone inside opened fire, Chicago police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Villegas, who lived in the 2300 block of West 18th Place, was shot nine times in the body and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:31 a.m., officials said.

No one was in custody.
