Man dies in Austin shooting


A man was killed in a shooting in Austin on the West Side Friday night.

Police found a 33-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest in a 1000-block yard on North Central Avenue around 10:55 p.m., Chicago police said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he died hours later, police said.

Witnesses told police the suspect opened fire from an alleyway and fled on foot.

No one was detained.
