(LaPresse) A group of Last Generation activists blocked traffic on the SP11 Padana Superiore Turin-Chivasso, near the Piedmontese capital. After 24 minutes, the police arrived at the scene and quickly took away the demonstrators. Six people sat on the asphalt of the roadway to protest with the aim of demanding an immediate stop to all public subsidies for fossil fuels. “Every year the government invests billions in fossil fuels knowing that this leads us to collapse, regardless of our lives. We are creating a 20-minute disruption and there is no other way to be heard,” said one activist. Before the officers arrived, the motorists tried to forcibly displace the protesters from the center of the road. (Lapresse)
