After multiple deadline extensions over the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Illinoisans who have not yet renewed their driver licenses and ID cards should do so immediately.
Thursday, December 1st is the final extension date for driver license and ID card renewals, and this deadline also applies to learner permits.
However, the following deadlines do not apply to commercial driver’s licenses or CDL learner’s permits.
Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White initially extended the renewal period due to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, and has since announced several more extensions.
However, White has extended the expiration date of his restricted driving permit to December 1, which is a permit set to expire between December 1, 2021 and December 1, 2022. limited to proof.
