Jim Gaffigan’s impressive resume lists comedians, actors, writers, and producers. Now he’s adding another title: Sleep Aid…

When I was a kid, to enjoy stand-up comedy, you had to know whose parents owned comedy albums. Or the local he stayed up until the news ended and asked Johnny Carson to stand up and wish he had comedians. In “The Tonight Show”. I often fell asleep while watching the news.remember when the news was bored?

Yes, I grew up a long time ago!i just look I’m in my 20’s.

For decades, stand-up comedy has become ubiquitous. Cable TV, satellite radio, Netflix, Amazon, YouTube and all social media platforms. It’s a good thing and has changed the lives of many comedians and allowed me to be a mediocre father to too many children. can do. It’s a win-win for everyone.

I’ve noticed a strange trend lately. Many times, often by strangers, I have been told, “My 10-year-old son listens to you and falls asleep.” “My kids listen to you as a nighttime ritual.” “Your stand-up helps my teenager at bedtime.”

Always “Eh, are you okay?”

These comments are always presented as compliments, but I’m not sure how you’ll react to being used as a sleep aid.

I’ve never been considered an “edgy” comedian, but I’ve always wanted a laugh instead of a snore.

Anyway, next time you can’t sleep, don’t count sheep. Say, “Hey, play Jim Gaffigan.”
