Jan. 6 committee report will be released Dec. 21, Thompson says

Rep. Benny Thompson, Chairman of the House Committee of Inquiry January 6th attack The panel’s long-awaited report will be released on Wednesday, Dec. 21, said Wednesday at the U.S. Capitol.

Thompson said the release of the report would be tied to some form of public presentation, but details of that are still being worked out by committee members.

The report and accompanying materials will be published online, Thompson said.

He also said that decisions regarding referrals of potential criminals would be made on the same day and voted on publicly.

Thompson indicated on Tuesday that there was a criminal referral linked to the Capitol attack middle of discussionbut final decisions, including those relating to specific crimes and specific suspects, were not made until after a vote by committee members.
