NORMAL (25News Now) – K9 Bond is his name and he’s the Normal Police Department’s newest crimefighter.
The department is introducing K9 Bond on its Facebook page. He and his handler, Officer Max Yanor, hit the streets for the first time this week.
He’s a year old, and “86 pounds of pure muscle German Shepherd who is ready to aid in keeping Normal safe,” the department said.

K9 Bond and Officer Yanor completed a rigorous K9 academy in Denver, Indiana. The department says K9 Bond is trained in many skills such as narcotic detection, bite apprehension, article searches and tracking,
“Normal PD is excited for the amazing things that K9 Bond and Officer Yanor will do for our community,” the department said.
