Gunshots Firing Inside Walmart in Chicago’s Pullman District, Witnesses Say

A gunshot was fired Saturday night inside a Walmart in Chicago’s Pullman neighborhood, causing a chaotic scene at a large store, according to witnesses and police.

Authorities called a Walmart at 10900 S. Doty Ave. around 6:42 p.m., according to Chicago Police. Two groups of people got into a fight and were shot, officials said.

A witness told NBC 5 that gunshots rang out while shopping in the store, causing panic among shoppers. Those involved fled the scene and were not arrested as of late Saturday.

After the shooting, numerous Chicago police were seen in front of the store, including near the doorway. The case is under investigation by detectives in Area 2.

A Walmart spokeswoman said the company is cooperating with law enforcement on an ongoing investigation and all employees have been accounted for.The store remained closed after the incident late Saturday.
