Governor JB Pritzker announced today the appointment of Natalie Phelps Finney As Director of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. She is a former Downstate legislator, and since August 2021 she has briefly served as IDNR’s Deputy Director.

Natalie Finney will serve as Director of the Department of Natural Resources. *Finney has served as Deputy Director of the DNR since August 2021, overseeing the Bureau of Land Management, Legislative Affairs, Oil and Gas Management and Mines. mineral. Prior to this, she served as State Representative for District 118 from 2017 until 2019. She has experience as a senior practice nurse and a family nurse. Finney holds an Associate of Science degree in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Indiana University. She earned her master’s degree in nursing from Vanderbilt University.
