According to the American Automobile Association (AAA), more than 54 million Americans are expected to travel 50 miles or more from their homes for Thanksgiving 2022, up 98% from pre-pandemic levels.
The busiest day was predicted to be Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving.According to Flightradar24, flight radar animations will be available on Thanksgiving on Wednesday, November 23, from 6am to 12pm ET. It shows a snapshot of previous air travel over the United States.
The Transportation Security Administration said it tested 2.4 million travelers at airports across the country on Wednesday.

That number falls just short of the nearly 2.5 million people screened on July 1, a record since the pandemic.
But this year’s Thanksgiving trip is a strong start for the airline industry after dealing with massive flight cancellations and staffing shortages over the summer.
The industry now sees Sunday as the next big travel day.

The AAA predicted that 2022 would be the third busiest Thanksgiving year since the AAA began tracking in 2000.
