Five 7-Eleven stores robbed in Near West and North Side, days after four other 7-Eleven stores were hit by gunmen

At least five 7-Eleven stores in the West and North sides were robbed at gunpoint early Wednesday morning, and a customer’s Jeep was carjacked in one of the incidents, according to Chicago police.

The robberies occurred a day after gunmen attacked four other 7-Eleven stores in the north and west. Police did not say if the robberies were related. No injuries have been reported.

The first robbery occurred around 1:10 am on Wednesday at the 900 block of West Monroe Street in the West Loop. Two men entered the store armed with pistols and declared a robbery. Police said they stole two of his cash registers, carjacked a customer’s black 2017 Jeep and his Cherokee, and fled in an SUV.

Half an hour later, two gunmen broke into a store on the 500 block of West Glenshaw Street on the Near West Side. Police said they stole cash from the cash register and fled in a black jeep.

Police said two gunmen entered a store on the 3700th block of North Broadway Street around 2:45 a.m., took cash from a register, then fled south in a black SUV.

Two gunmen broke into a store at 2700 West Towhy Avenue in West Ridge around 3:10 a.m., took cash from two cash registers and fled, police said.

About five minutes later, two gunmen broke into a store at Block 6800 North Western Avenue in West Ridge, less than a mile away, and took cash from two cash registers, according to police. Police said they drove away in a black SUV.

Police in Chicago issued an alarm on Tuesday after gunmen robbed four 7-Eleven stores in the north and west. In one of his robberies, the gunman sported his 9mm handgun with a blue laser. They were seen getting away in a black SUV.

The robbery occurred at:

  • 6800 W. North Ave., 2:42 AM
  • 1153 W. Belmont Ave, 3:37 AM
  • 2341 W. Belmont Ave, 3:50 AM
  • 2366 N. Damen Ave., 4 a.m.

The robbers in these incidents were black, between 15 and 25 years old, between 5’5 and 5’8 tall, and weighed between 140 and 160 pounds. Police said one was wearing a fur jacket with a hood, while the others wore dark or pitch black clothing with hoods and masks.
