CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. (WLS) — The FBI is investigating an armored truck robbery outside a south suburban grocery store Tuesday afternoon.
The robbery happened outside a Food 4 Less grocery store in Chicago Heights. Chopper 7 was over the scene in the 1300 block of Western Avenue.

The FBI said three men with guns robbed an armored truck in the parking lot. In video released by federal law enforcement, you can see one of the suspects about to jump back in the getaway car when the armored truck comes from behind and actually strikes him.

The FBI also released a photo of the car that took off with the injured suspect and others inside. They described it as a dark-colored Nissan sedan, which has extensive damage to its rear passenger door because of the collision after the robbery.
The car had no license plates but did have a dealer advertisement displayed, with a star and blue lettering.
In the past five weeks there have been at least three armored vehicle robberies in the south suburbs.
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in these crimes.
