The June 1 deadline for Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen to say the United States could default if the debt ceiling is not raised is a week away. Both sides said Wednesday’s negotiations remained “productive,” but no deal was still reached and the House of Representatives is set to adjourn for a week on Remembrance Day.
