Crime Stoppers looking for thief who took donations for animals

URBANA — Champaign County Crime Stoppers needs help finding a woman who stole money from a University of Illinois building this summer.

About 11:53 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, a woman came into the UI Veterinary Medicine Small Animal Clinic with an injured animal. She left the building and returned moments later with a large bag.

The female was observed on camera stealing a box that contained cash donations for the clinic, which she put in her bag then left.

Police would like help identifying her. She is described as Black with a heavy build. She had long black hair, possibly not her, a nose ring, and a tattoo on her left arm.

Crime Stoppers will pay cash rewards of $5,000 for tips that lead to an arrest in any Champaign County homicide, $2,500 for tips leading to an arrest in any felony involving a gun in Champaign County, and up to $1,000 for tips leading to arrests in other crimes.
