He allegedly grabbed about $240 worth of smoke from shelves and the hands of employees and ran out the door. Unfortunately, according to Aberdeen, he left his wallet behind.
A Walgreens employee who opened the wallet saw Maggie’s state ID and recognized him from “previous correspondence,” Aberdeen said.
CPD officials caught up with McGee on Wednesday. Aberdeen said he has a pending retail theft case and he has two misdemeanor convictions behind him.
The assistant public defender told Judge Maryam Ahmad that McGee was a pharmacist at a local hospital and also worked as a cleaning contractor for the CTA.
Ahmad determined that McGee could start electronic surveillance by posting bail of $5,000.
