CHICAGO — A group of masked men thwarted five armed robberies in Humboldt Park and West Town on Sunday within two hours, Chicago police said. No arrests have been made.
Each time, the robbers confronted victims on sidewalks and streets and demanded their property while threatening to shoot them, according to a Chicago Police Department Community Alert. He fled in a car, probably a dark-colored Kia with a broken rear passenger window.

Police said the first robbery occurred around 3:47 p.m. at Block 1300 in North Washtenaw.
After that, after 4 o’clock, attack again with North Campbell’s 1100 block. A 31-year-old man told police he was walking and a black car overturned and two men got out.
They hinted they had a gun, took a wallet out of his pocket before returning to the car and fled south at Campbell, a police spokesman said. I found my wallet a few blocks away.
About ten minutes later, another man was robbed in Humboldt Park.
A 37-year-old man was walking down an alley behind Block 2600 in West Augusta when a black four-door car pulled up at 4:17 p.m., police said. He robbed the man of his property, according to a police spokesperson.
About an hour later, two more robberies were reported in quick succession at 5:35 p.m. at 500 P.M. North Campbell and 5:40 P.M. at 600 P.M.
Chicago police said the suspects were four black men between the ages of 15 and 25, dressed in black and wearing ski masks. Police said they were armed with black handguns.
