
CHICAGO — A woman was carjacked for a Maserati in the North Center Saturday night, according to Chicago police. Just 24 hours later, another woman was carjacked across the river from her park in Albany. Chicago police found a Maserati shortly after she was carjacked, but she was never arrested.
At around 11:55 p.m., four or five criminals approached a woman as she was sitting in the driver’s seat of a Maserati on the 2100 block of West Karom. Cops—and kicked her out of her car.
Two hijackers fled in a Maserati, while the other two fled in a black SUV, believed to be a Hyundai Santa Fe, that was waiting nearby, police said.
Police found the abandoned Maserati in Auburn Gresham around 1:40 am on Sunday, according to CPD documents.
A 25-year-old woman was carjacked while sitting in her 2017 Ford Escape on the 4200 block in North Richmond early Saturday. She told police that two men approached her car around 12:40 a.m. and forced her out of her vehicle at gunpoint. They took her phone and ran her car.
CPD has not released the perpetrator’s description in either crime.
