Two days after losing David Montgomery to free agency, the Bears appear to have found a replacement for him. They said D’Onta Foreman and he agreed to a one-year, $3 million deal, sources confirmed Thursday night.

Foreman had 203 carries for 914 yards last year. Montgomery he had 201 for 801 yards.

Pro Football Focus ranked Foreman 30thth-best running back last season. The Bears are trying to get Foreman to share time with Khalil Herbert.

He is the third Panthers offensive player to land in Chicago in the past two days. The Bears traded the No. 1 pick for a package that included receiver DJ Moore and signed backup his quarterback PJ Walker on Thursday.

Over the five years, he averaged 4.3 yards per carry. Foreman, his third-round pick from Texas in 2017, has played for the Texans, Titans, and Panthers.
