One person was injured in a shooting outside an auto center in Walmart, Georgia, police said Wednesday. Several people were detained, police said.
Cobb County Police have responded to reports of a mass shooting at a Walmart in Marietta, Georgia.
Cobb County Police Department Deputy Chief Benjamin Cohen said, “Shortly after arrival, it was determined that the shooting took place between two separate groups and took place in an outside area of a Walmart auto center.” At least one person was shot and taken to hospital in a private vehicle.
Information on the extent of the wounded’s injuries was not immediately available. No other injuries were reported.
Police said they had detained several people for questioning, but did not specify how many. No arrests have been made as of Wednesday evening.
Police initially reported multiple injuries, but said it was not active shooting and poses no threat to the public.
“Cobb County Police at shooting scene at 2795 Chastain Meadows Parkway,” Cobb County Police tweeted. “Several injuries. Not an active shooter. No current threat to public.”
