“Plus, we’re in our 50s,” Damon said. “I mean, I can see the end of the tunnel!”

Affleck said:

“Look?” Damon laughed. “It took forty years…?”

“No, I hadn’t thought of this!” Affleck laughed. “But it makes it so much easier. And it was a lot of fun – I don’t know. It kind of felt like it was just us and we got to do what we wanted to do. I I loved it. I miss it every day since then. It was definitely the best work experience of my life.

That experience is the movie Air, which hits theaters on April 5th only. It tells the story of Nike and how he built his entire brand of shoes around his NBA rookie player Michael in 1984. Jordan.

In this movie, Affleck (who also directed the film) plays Nike founder Phil Knight. Damon is Sonny Vaccaro, a Nike exec trying to pitch him an idea.

Vaccaro: “I mean, if you look at him, if you really look at Jordan the way I do, you’ll be able to see exactly what I’m looking at.
Knight: “Which one is what?”
Vaccaro: “The most competitive guy I’ve ever seen. He’s a real killer.”

It turned out to be a killer deal for everyone involved. Jordan Brand has made over $5 billion in sales in the last year alone and is still flying off the shelves.

This movie isn’t a biopic, but Affleck took care to make everyone, especially Damon, look as authentic as possible. ”

And according to Affleck, Michael Jordan himself made some suggestions: Viola Davis would be my mother.”

“It’s like choosing Michael Jordan for the basketball team,” added Damon.

Davis was actually cast as Michael’s mother, Deloris Jordan. Chris Tucker played and helped write the role of someone he knew personally, Nike Vice President Howard White. Affleck said, “I called Chris Tucker, who I always thought was a genius and wanted to work with. He said, ‘I know Howard White.’ , said, “Do you know Howard White?”It turns out later that Chris Tucker knows everyone!

One character we rarely see is the actor playing Jordan. When asked why, Affleck said it was clear to him why. That’s Michael Jordan.” He replied, “No, no. I know what Michael Jordan is like. I know.”

“Not only that, but the only actor who could play Michael Jordan was a little too old to play the role and probably couldn’t afford him! Jordan, and now everything else.” is fake,” Affleck said.

So the final result feel Authentic. And as always, it was a team effort.

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon met as children in Cambridge, Massachusetts and hit it off right from the start chasing the same Hollywood dream.

You may not have seen them as extras somewhere in Boston’s Fenway Park crowd at 1989’s Field of Dreams. But you may have spotted them in Good Will Hunting, both of which won an Oscar for their original screenplay. It launched them into the Hollywood stratosphere, ready or not.

Smith asked.

“I remember it being unsettling. It was like a couple of years, I think,” Damon replied. “It was completely surreal.”

“In March of 1998, I was 25,” Affleck said. “I look at myself now and think, ‘I still have a lot to learn.’ That’s the curse of being 25.” idea you understand it all. “

They seem to have figured it out. Personally, I’ve won everything from box office hits to Oscar gold medals.

“Frankly, one of the lessons I’ve learned as I’ve gotten older is that money isn’t everything. It’s not the most important thing,” Affleck said. “I will probably miss out on a lot of things. I don’t think money has changed more happiness than I had. That’s the beautiful thing about this Happiness is being able to be here every day With the kids in Los Angeles I see them every day I invite them to come see me on set My best friend and We will work together for the rest of our lives. There is nothing more I want in my life.It is what I have always wanted.”

“And I thought, ‘That could mean I’m about to die!'”

“We were literally thinking the same thing,” laughed Damon.

and now, Affleck and Damon formed a new production company together called Artist Equitywhich would give film crews a bigger slice of the economic pie.

“That’s why it’s called Artist Equity,” Damon said.

“Air” is the company’s first product, with more to come. “We are working with Amazon again to create the story of a wrestler named Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg and won a national championship in Arizona,” Affleck said.

“And who starred in that movie?” Smith asked.

“I know where you’re going with this, but let me tell you who the main character is…”

“be another Actor in that movie? “

“We always hire top performers,” says Affleck. “And in this case, everyone who has ever been cast very absolute best Selection. “

“Are you dancing because Jennifer Lopez is also in the movie?”

“Yes, I think Jennifer Lopez is doing that movie. It doesn’t look like she’s doing me any favors, but it really is.”

It seems fitting that Affleck and Damon’s new film is a story about collaboration.

Affleck said, “What a joy to do something with her. How fun to see what she’s good at and go to work with your wife and work with your best friend.” If you don’t like the people you work with and have difficulties or problems at work, it’s really depression or anxiety, it’s painful for people, and conversely, [if] You love the people at work and you probably have a pretty good life, don’t you?”
