2 women found dead in Englewood home after fire, Chicago fire officials say

Chicago (WLS) — Chicago fire officials said two women were found dead in their Inglewood home after a home fire.

A fire broke out in a 7,200 block home in South Walcott on Tuesday night, Chicago fire officials said.

According to CFD, when firefighters arrived on the scene, a raging fire had broken out behind the house, preventing firefighters from entering.

The fire was extinguished around 9:10 p.m., CFD said.

After the fire was extinguished, firefighters found two adult female victims dead in the wreckage behind the house.

It was not immediately clear if the woman died in the fire or if she died before the fire. The victim was in her early 40s and CFD believes they were living in the house. Fire officials said they believed they were sisters.

The Chicago Fire Department has not yet commented on the possible cause of the fire and said it is investigating. .
